What is the maximum contribution I can make to my Health Savings Account (HSA)?

This calculator will estimate the maximum contribution you are eligible to make to your Health Savings Account (HSA).

You are eligible to contribute to an HSA if:
  • You are covered under a qualified High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP)
  • You are not enrolled in Medicare and not covered under any other health plan1
  • You are not claimed as a dependent on someone else's tax return
Your spouse is also eligible if your spouse meets the above rules.

2009 HDHP requirements for an HSA are as follows:

Individuals age 55 or over by the end of 2009 can contribute an additional $1,000 to their HSA for 2009.
